Christmas time, Christmas time, Is here Christmas time, Christmas time, Is here Most of loved ones Are near Christmas time Christmas time is here So light the fire And have a cup of cheer Christmas time Christmas time is here Let there be joy Let there be love Let there be cheer Let there be joy Let there be love Let there be cheer A time to remember A time to forget Time to love A time to neglect A time to stop And look back at your year To stare down your demons Cause Christmas time is here Christmas time, Christmas time, Is here Christmas time, Christmas time, Is here

Dasher Dancer Prancer Vixen Comet Cupid Donner Blitzen Is that reindeer Is that reindeer I hear Is that reindeer Or something I should fear Creeping on my lawn Creeping on my lawn Something could be wrong Creeping on my lawn Creeping on my lawn Something could be wrong There’s a sound up on the roof I sure hope it’s a hoof There’s a sound up on the roof I sure hope it’s a hoof I mean, cause I mean if it’s not if it’s not…. if it’s not…. What is ita Is there something in the chimney? Is it someone coming to get me Or just old is Saint Nick Up to his old trick Is there something in the fire place Something with a gnarled face Or just old Santa Claus Or something with paws and claws I don’t know My skin is crawling Is There foot steps in the snow I don’t know I don’t know Ya, I don’t know I don’t know What that sound is Where did it go I don’t know I don’t know Ya, I don’t know

I wish it would snow I wish it would snow I wish it would snow I wish it would snow There’s no white Christmas anymore There’s no white Christmas anymore We’ve done it to ourselves We’ve done it to ourselves We’ve built our cities on top of its-self The smokestacks billow As the factories grind We dream of snow All of the time No white Christmas anymore No white Christmas anymore There’s no snow on the floor No white Christmas anymore We turned our backs on the world We eat the poisons that it hurled We ignored the prophecies for-told Now we yearn for the days of old Now we live here on the road Now we only dream of the cold We let our children inherit this earth (This is all we got) Buried in coal, in soot, and dirt (This is all we got) How did we let it come to this And pretend that it was all bliss How did we let all the signals miss

about

The long of the short story….
Because I’m bad about getting music out in the world and actually finishing it up and putting a bow on it; My kids tend to hear what I’m working on a lot more than anyone else.
They’ve also been harassing me about making a Christmas song. One morning on the way to school while I was listening to the Post metal project I’ve been working on, my six-year-old Zola, began to sing “Christmas time, Christmas time is here” over one of the songs.
And so “Buried in Coal” was born in early December and the race to tie up the lyrics and record began so we could have it out for y’all before sweet baby Jesus’s birthday.
Really hope you enjoy this serious yet silly project.

For fans of: Isis, Neurosis, Cult to Luna
